Question about IBM ThinkPad T20 2647 Notebook

1 Answer

Black Screen I have a Thinkpad T20 2647. Its starts fine, runs through the Windows 2000 load screen, but after, the scren goes black and no matter how long it sits there it wont advance. I've tried with and without the battery and it happens anyway. I can hear the fan working so I dont think its overheating. It did this in safe mode and last known good config also. Anything else I can try?

Turn off your pc and connect another monitor. If the external monitor works fine then the screen cable is damaged or your laptop's LCD needs replacement.

I cannot get my computer to boot. It just goes to a black screen after the acer logo and then the Microsoft loading screen comes up and then goes back to the black screen and that's it. I tried system...

This is a hard drive issue, remove hardware and reseat it back into place, sometimes this will work and run fine. But it is more than likely your hard drive will need to be replaced.

Screen not working.

Hi,
If there's an external image, here's the possibilities:
Bad inverter (25-30.00)
Bad backlight in lcd (new lcd 75.00-100.00)
THe cable has been disconnected from the lcd or the motherboard.
That's really all it can be. Is there any image, no matter how faint, on the lcd? If so, I'd go for a new inverter.
Good luck, hope it helps.
