You can change the IP address by logging on to your router or reset the router by pressing the reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds by which the router goes back to default settings!
If you clarify your problem more the solution becomes easier if you still need help!
router name and model IP address you are trying to change etc.

SOURCE: entered the wrong ip address

Hi there, all you need to do since you are trying to set this router, on the computer that is connected to the router, first is to check the IP address

on your computer:
> click start>run>type cmd and hit okay
> type IPCONFIG in lowercase
> check the default gateway, and from there if it is a private address try to use that when you want to access the router setup screen.

If not, you may reset the router, turn off and turn on the router after resetting it and check again the IP address.

Note: once you reset the router it will set the router back to factory default - which is 192.168.1.1 - no username and password is admin.

Hope this works!

SOURCE: Connecting Ipod touch 8(GB) to Wi-fi

Hi,
I want to tell you that there might be two problems for your concern.

1. Your router is not working properly
2. Your Ipod Touch is not working properly

But it might be possible that both devices working fine just the compatibility issue.

First of all i can suggest you that you can upgrade the firmware for your router.

Then you can reconfigure your wireless setting on your router.

Then tried to put static ip on your ipod touch in the network setting option

IP address: 192.168.0.15
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1
Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.2

Then tried again to connect wirelessly with your ipod touch make sure you dont required to add mac address for you ipod touch and also you can click on the option called "Wireless Access Point"

Then you can see the option " Turn Access Control On" you can uncheck this option.

Try again i believe that will resolve your concern.

Thanks & Regards

Entering new wifi code

You need to access your modem interface page and find the wireless page. There you will see the code for your wifi and can change it to whatever you want. To access your modem interface you will need to know the IP address of your modem and type it into the address bar of a browser at the top. To find the IP address of your modem open the command prompt window (black window) by typing cmd in the search bar in your start window. Once the command prompt window opens type ipconfig /all and hit enter (there is a space between ipconfig and the forward slash). The modem address is called the "default gateway" and will be something like 192.168.1.1 or 10.1.1.1 or 10.0.0.138...there are several possibilities if you try to guess it but the exact address can be found in the command prompt window.

How do I change the "Pass code" on my wireless Motorola surfboard modem ???

If you mean the wireless pass code or Passphrase you need to log onto your modems web page which normally sits at IP address: 192.168.100.1. In the wireless section there is the pass code update field.

Try assigning your laptop a static IP. To do this in Windows:

  • Open Windows Start menu.
  • Open Control Panel.
  • Classic view: Open Network Connections
Category view: Select Network and Internet Connections, and thenNetwork Connections.
  • Double-click on your active LAN or Internet connection.
  • Click Properties
  • In the General tab, highlight the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item, and clickProperties.
  • In the General tab, click Use the following IP address, and enter: - IP address. The static IP address you want to assign to this computer (try 192.168.1.110 to start). - Subnet mask. Subnet mask used by your router (try 255.255.255.0 to start). - Default gateway. IP address of your router's default gateway (try 192.168.1.1 to start).
  • In Use the following DNS server addresses, enter all the IP addressses for the DNS servers your router uses (or you can try your router's address, probably 192.168.1.1).
  • Click OK.

I have the V.Net netbook from Visual Land and I am having trouble with getting online. I have put the ssid and the pass key with the ip address and I cannot get online can you help me????

Appears you only connecting to the router and not the internet probably because the router did not assign an ip address to the netbook.... .. so first try this

try resetting the router (unplug for a few minutes) try --be sure the wifi switch is enabled on the netbook---try---go to CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS--right click oin your wifi card and choose properties--highlight INTERNET PROTOCOL and choose properties and be sure "OPTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY" is checked--Does the laptop "SEE" the router?
You will need your SSID to logon to the router(internet)

If this was helpful, please indicate so, if not -comment back so we can dig further to resolve this

I have tried for days to get it to connect to my wifi conection it finds it with strong signal but wont let me use the internet what am i doing wrong please help

hi

type ipconfig/all
hit enter

You need to have a different IP address than he has, so if his is 192.168.1.11, pick the last number and add 100 to it to be safe, so yours would be 192.168.1.111 (just an example)

Your netmask will be the same as his, 255.255.255.0
your gateway will be the same as his

You also need to have the DNS servers that are listed, there should be 2 of them, write both of them down.

So, on your sheet of paper, you will have a unique IP address, the same netmask and gateway, and 2 dns servers.

Go to your PC, start, control panel, network connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection, then select properties, On the general tab screen, Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and click properties,

Then enter your unique IP address, netmask, gateway, and both dns servers. Click ok, then ok again.

Then on your notebook/pc, click on start, run, type cmd, hit enter
type 'ipconfig/all'
hit enter, your info should match your neighbors except for the IP address
type 'ipconfig/flushdns'
hit enter
type 'exit'

now try to get online with internet explorer, you should be successful, if your not, post back on here with your results and I'll get back to you.
