Hi Nicky this is Sunney,
This is a general problem i have a solution for that ....
on the routers main page there would be an option for MTU( Maximum Transmission Unit )...
u can simply reduce the number of MTU .... and if the problem prevails then u can upload the firware of the router .... and with that u will perfectly be able to go online ....

Sounds like you just need to power cycle your router and laptop. Turn off your laptop and pull the power on the router for a couple mins. Plug the router back in and wait till it is completed its boot cycle and then reboot your laptop. It will assign it a proper internal IP address at that time.

The ip address conflict is likely caused by a manual IP address that is entered into the printer that is overlapping with an automatic address that your router is giving out. Either switch your printer to DHCP so it gets an automatic address, or reserve the address in the router's DHCP list or pick a manual address to assign that is outside of the range of the DHCP server. Most router will start at address XXX.XXX.XXX.100 so if you pick an address between 20 and 40 then you should not have any more issues with conflicts.

Make sure all the connections are secure. try plugging the laptop into the network cable directly and see if you can access a web page to verify that the laptop is working as it should. Try to connect a different device wirelessly to the router to see if the router is broadcasting as it should. Is the router broadcasting a SSID? Does the router have an antenna and is it attached correctly? Try to reset the router and connect.

HOW TO USE INTERNET IN MORE THAN ONE PC FROM LINKSYS WIRELESS G B

You have two ways on how you can get other computer online through this router. First, you can wired them (using an Ethernet cable) to one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the router. They are the ones labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Second is through wireless, but those computers that will connect through wireless must also have a wireless adapter to be able to pick up the signal that this router is broadcasting.

I connect fine to it but cannot get to internet

This is not a trivial task but to start, I presume that your Wireless Router is connected to an ADSL or CABLE modem:
1) Make sure that you can connect to the Internet/Web directly from the ADSL/CABLE modem. 2) Once you have step 1 validated, connect your Wireless router to the ADSL/CABLE modem. 3) Ensure that you can communicate to the Wireless router and use Netgear supplied software - I suggest that you connect your PC/LAPTOP used for configuration directly via an ETHERNET cable attached to your router: 'NETGEAR's Smart Wizard™ makes the set-up of the RangeMax™ wireless router easy and hassle-free. Smart Wizard automatically detects your ISP's network settings, then walks you through each step of the installation proces' 4) When the installation is finish, try connecting to the internet via the ETHENET cable on your router. If it does not work, the FIREWALL on the ADSL/CABLE MODEM may be blocking the port and needs to be opened/disabled. 5) You can now concentrate in getting the WIFI working by first using an 'unsecured/no encrytion' connection by setting an appropriate SSID. 6) Once setp 5 is working, you SHOULD NOW SECURE your Wifi connection by using a selected encryption (such as WEP or better) and security key.
ps. you will get this 'limited access' message if anywhere in the device chains the IP addresses cannot be resolved.

How do I get internet on my laptop from my pc not using a cable?

what you would need to get is a wirless router. If you have high speed internet then you can plug the internet modem into the wireless router and then plug your main pc into the router via an ethernet cable and then set up your laptop to pick up the signal wirelessly. If you have dial up internet then you would still need a wireless router but it is a little more complicated. You could hook up the router to your main pc and then set up internet connection sharing so that way your laptop could pick it up wirelessly. hopefully this helps.

Trouble Connecting

The modem only attaches to one address following boot. Turn off the modem, turn off your wireless router...turn on the modem, wait several seconds for it to boot and then attach it to to the wireless router. Start the wireless router. Attach with your computer through the ethernet to the router first and configure it to use DHCP over wireless. Then attampt connecting to the access point over wireless. If it works, then configure WEP. Be sure to use the Hex key that it generates and not the WEP key you built it from. For example, if your password is "Rosebud" use the one it creates that looks like "fcae9969e..."

Want to hook laptop up to home computer via cable modem

You need a router or a wireless router to do that.
If your cable modem is wireless you can set directly via wireless network a connection with your laptop (the laptop also need a wireless card (if dont have any built in))
The connection must be done in this way

ISP ----->> Cable Modem ---->> Wireless Router o Router ----->> Computer ( 1, 2, or more)

Rangemax-internet only works when comp directly connected via LAN

it sounds like you have the wireless connection to the WAN disabled. Go through the wireless settings on the router and check to make sure it's not being blocked from the WAN/Internet connection.

Linksys Wireless-G 2.4Ghz Broadband Router Problem

You have to check if your computer can connect to the modem with an Ethernet cable. This will tell you if the ethernet port on the modem is working. if that does not work call your cable provider.

Next thing after you get the instructions above done.

Press the reset button on the back of the router> press it in for 30 seconds then let go and pull out the power. Connect the router up the way it should be before you reset by the way. check if you have internet if you do not follow hte directions at teh link below.
