Maybe the lens has shifted, try taking it to Canon Service Centre, (it will be fixed FOC if it's under warranty) as it does not need any spare parts, just reassimbling the lens with the body.

Canon IXUS 970 IS Someone played with my camera & now everything is in Japanese. How do I change the language back to English?? Thanks!

Press the playback button (right-pointing triangle). Press and hold the FUNC/SET button and press the menu button. Use the cursor keys to select the language and press the FUNC/SET button.

The instructions are in the "Setting the Display Language" section of the manual (page 15 in my copy). If you need a copy of the manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

Hello, my ixus 760 i always showing busy when uploading photos to my pc. Tried everything, please help.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

How to plug back the lcd connector on a ixus 970

if it is a standard ribbon connector that you are trying to reconnect you will find there is a small piece of the connector that either slides up or hinges upwards through 90 degrees. this releases the clip pressure to reinsert the ribbon then closing it holds it secure

Canon IXUS 970 IS Digital Camera Lens error? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Camera thinks memory card is locked

check the pins where the memory card enter, if they are all there (not bended) go to canon site and download the latest framework.

P.S, mack sure to use the right SD Card type as the camera is compatible with some types and with a limited size only.
