Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
I have the same problem. The solution is to use bleach with your whites. It's better to use a normal amount of bleach frequently rather than a lot of bleach only once in a while.

You said, When you shake the drum of the washer you can hear water underneath. Then you can smell stinky water. The water is sitting in the washer after each wash and smelling. This can't be normal. What to do? I have used the special tablets.
This is normal for many brands and types of Front load washers.
The water almost never empties completely from the inside.
I tell my customers, once a week run it with hot water and bleach even if you have to run it empty!
And then leave the door open when you not using the washer!
Whirlpool sells some products for this but I never use them.
Let me know how my method is for you.
