Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

A recent problem has occurred with my BT STUDIO 3500 twin cordless telephone (s) with answering machine. It rings OK but when I pick it up there's static on the other side and then it goes off. Also it's not the normal ring but a loud piercing continous ring. I have to press anyone of the keys to get it to stop. I have looked at the user guide and there;s nothing. It's not the alarm and it's connected OK. Is this anything to do with SKY and or broadband connection? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the phone cables, eventually replace them.

    • Check all cables, static nois and irregular signal are often because of a bad line cable.

    • If the line is connected through a broadband filter , then replace it, when the filter is defective, it does the same.

    • If there is a source of interference, like an ac adapter, near to the cables or to the phone, that can also give static noise.

    • Another possible cause is a faulty phone, in that case the problem would be only on one line.

The static can be also a short on the phone mic.
I suggest to do this way:
Unplug phone from power to reset it.
    Try changing ring settings.
Try testing a different phone cable, and eliminate temporarily broadband filter, if any.
If it is not that , then the phones are probably faulty, if the problem is on both lines, then the problem is with the receiver, if on one line, then it is one of the handsets. In this case it is probably a short, or an internal fault.

The CS6719-16 isn't an answering machine. It will ring until someone answers, some other answering machine picks up, or the caller hangs up.

If you want to change the number of rings before an answering machine picks up, please reply to this post and specify the answering machine.

Answering machine is not answering the phone calls. Have ringer set for 4 rings but the machine never picks up. was working fine until our power was off one day

If your phone rings normally and your can make and receive calls, the line is OK, please check if answering option is on, typically a botton marked ANS or similar with an indicator or a display showing that it's on.

BT Studio 3500, Base station, flashing telephone. Base staion handset, flashing message icon 2nd handset, flashing telephone and handset. Why the flashing and how do I cancel all the flashing.

eventually contacted the BT team via telephone and apparently this is a common problem when using BT products with Talktalk & Virgin. To overcome this in the majority of cases, dial 1571 and connect to your voicemail, listen to the options and finally delete all messages. Hope this can be added to your list of solutions.
