Replace the backlight inverter, mostly that's the problem.

Sorry Donna, Any thing that i would tell you to try, you would have to understand the lingo and the theroy in electronics. A TV set is no where to be to experiment with as they hold alot of HI voltage ,even when they are unplugged. If the setd over5 years old, Maybe its time for you to thinkl about buying a new one.
