Question about Yahoo Mail

1 Answer

Connecting to Yahoo

Yahoo homepage will not load on my PC, or takes 5-10 minutes if I decide to wait that long. Every other website loads more or less instantaneously. Been having this problem on and off for last 2-3 weeks. Any ideas?

same here - it says 'cannot find server' to anything related to yahoo including flickr. No problems with any other web pages. have tried both safari and firefox, also yahoo.co.uk, .com. .au.....nothing. I am on a mac and don't have any extra security software and have also deleted temporary files and things but nothing is working.

My problem is Incredimail...I can't send e-mail . They say for me to go to
yahoo Properties which i can't find.

I have to put in Server Port Numbers
Outgoing mail (SMTP) 465
check..This server requires a _secure commection(SSL)

Incoming mail (pop3): 995
check..This server requires a _secure connection (SSL)
_Use Defaults

Then it says ..From now on you should be able to send and receive mail using your Yahoo account without any problem

I wish to keep the yahoo account but I don't want it to show on my home page. Can this be accomplished?

Hi,

When you say homepage I assume you don't want to load yahoo site whenever you open a web browser. TO change your web homepage you need to go to the following:

for Firefox 6.01. (Most likely all firefox ver. are similar)

- Click tools
- Click Options
- Go to General TAB
- type the website you want to be on your homepage at HOME PAGE box or Start page for other version

For Internet explorer 8 (other version are similar but not identical. Just look for tools)
- Click tools
- Click Internet Options
- Go to General TAB
- type the website you want to be on your homepage at HOME PAGE box or Start page for other version

For Google Chrome
- Click the wrench icon on the top right side
- Click options
- Click Basics
- At the HOMEPAGE section type in the website you want to load

Basically thats all. Please note browsers has different version but always look for the tools menu

Yahoo mail doesn't load. it get's hung up "waiting for l.yimg.com"???

bad internet connection (especially if wireless)

perhaps try a reboot or better yet a shut down and restart (after at least one or two minutes being off)

If not: Try www.housecall.antivirus.com (trend micro) it is an excellent online virus scanner -- you could have a virus.

Best regards

I am running XP PRO. with Internet Explorer as browser and Yahoo7 as home page my email is stephen.greathead@yahoo.com My problem is I cannot sign in for yahoo7 mail or accounts anything for yahoo. When I...

Could be either a poor internet connection or just poor server response time from yahoo. Its probably struggling to load and just times out. This happens to me with just about any website from time to time. Try repairing your internet connection, or just waiting for another time (side note...Mozilla Firefox is the way to go)

I cannot get my e-mails in my box to load. I get the "load" word and nothing happens after that.

This could be a temporary problem with Yahoo or it could be a connection issue. Make sure that you can get to other websites and that they work properly. If you can, then wait 10-15 minutes and try to access your mail again.

You might also try clearing the cache in your browser and deleting your cookies. If using Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on Tools and select Internet Options
  2. In the Browsing History section, click Delete
  3. Uncheck everything except Temporary Internet files and cookies
  4. Click Delete
  5. Click Ok when that process finishes
  6. Close your browser and re-open it

My mail shows up on my homepage but when I click on mail, it loads but does not open. The only way I can open my mail is by clicking one by one on the home page

try making yahoomail.com as your homepage
it will take you directly to the sign up page

also if you dont want to do that
check the mail button on the right side of the page and click on your name
