SOURCE: Benq T905 Monitor's green light turns on and then

Check for blown MOSFET IRFU9024N and transistors C5707/5706, and fuse in the inverter circuits section. Also look for bad caps with bulging top/seal. See some pictures of failed Dell monitors (BenQ made alot of monitors for Dell), http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

I received a benq t905 from my parents the other day and i just hooked it up to my computer and it won't work. everytime i press the on button it blinks green and makes a quiet beeping noise and then...

On rereading that post, I note that it shut itself off; perhaps it is time to open it up and fix it (if you're up on your electronics safety) per the _stinks_ note, below; you get to resolder some stuff running the backlight and replace a couple of standard capacitors and transistors, from what I can tell.

Things sound sort of normal for a driver being finicky about DVI modes; did the monitor driver not install, or just not bring visible results? You set your OS to 1280x1024 having booted to VESA (safe mode,) right? Normally when the resolution/sync is out of range, the status light is green constantly and you get a little note; maybe it's just too far out of the 56-76Hz video rate for that.

It's also possible that your backlight is failing (they fail short, as in too few ohms) or the monitor settings are set incompatibly...DMI or VGA cable? Does it stink?

Secondary monitor

When you first switch on Does it show Benq?If not the inverter circuit has failed. If you are technically able you can try resoldering transistors on inverter board. If your display is black all of the time transistors could have failed as also related fuse etc.
And yes please check with BenQ Normally these have a 3 year warranty.

Projector only displays Black and White / No color images.

The problem is the color wheel. It may have broken or motor stopped on clear. Either way the image will remain unchanged just without color. It will need to be sent in for service. Not an unusual problem for BENQ. I have had 3 that have come apart after making a loud whirring sound. Good luck getting someone with BENQ to help they are horrible when it comes to service. Buyers beware!!!
