Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. The vent or grille part just pops out and behind it are two screws remove the two screws now you can remove the cover. The damper is just held on by a clip an each side. Here is the part Control, Damper Part #: 67003903

Mine (same model) does the same thing. The only way I get it to work is to open the freezer, and move the metal ice lever arm up and back down again. Then it starts. But after a day, the arm stops moving and it breaks. I can't stand it anymore.

you will have to have the jazz board replaced . very common problem . i have one in my own home . . this is the main control. and the only correction . A Maytag problem .. new boards have been revised and do not have the problem .. **** ,. have been doing maytag since 1950 's // hope this hepl.s if your do this service your self ( read the instructions good . as when your finish you wll have to program the control for your model .. **** . .its a easy job but you have to finish it properly.. mm
Hi!!! how old is the frig?If it has a mother board that is electronic then you have a bad board.main electronic boards could be very expensive but you can save the labor and the headache by just buying the board and install it yourself..good luck..
