The cam stack can come out quite easily but putting it back in has some danger to it. The screw that holds the mechanism guide pin is somewhat tricky to get back in and if you cross the threads you've ruined your machine because the part is no longer available that the srew goes through. If you cross the threads it pitches the guide and your dial on the front of the machine that selects the different stitches won't work. If you shine a light in the back of the machine you can see it the camstack is cracked.

Trying you local dealer would be the first place, if they don't have one you could call Viking at: 1-800-474-6437 to see if they could get you a photo copy of the original owners manual.
