Question about JVC Sirius KD-LH300 CD Player

JVC KD-LH300 Display

The problem I have experience with my unit is I will be driving and out of nowhere the display will go black and I am unable to control anything. When it decides it will flash back on randomly. Now sometimes when it comes back on it just shuts off again. I have looked at the connection points and tried cleaning them, but it still happens every once in a while.

I too have the same problem for the past 2 and a half years with no solution. I haven't even got a chance to use the Picture option yet. The only sad thing that I have been doing during the cold months is by lightly cleaning both contact connectors with a cotton swab lightly dipped in rubbing alcohol (once a month), then turn on the heater, set the blower to high, and put the faceplate near the heater duct to warm it up and seems to help out a little bit. I do noticed the more often I remove the faceplate the more this problem seems to happen. I do believe that this must happen to all aftermarket removable faceplate radios after a certain age. Think I might just look on ebay to see if anybody is selling a good used faceplate with the risk of having the same problem, or just buy a new but different brand of radio. But then again my radio is at least 5 years old now which by today standards is too old. I guess! Hope this helps if any. Good Luck!

Sounds like the problem is a contact point in the face itself. The only way to know for sure is to find a local car audio shop that's a JVC dealer, see if you can get a new face or if they are aware of the problem, I've answered this question a few times so I'm sure a shop may even keep those replacement faces in stock. Hope this helps

I have a jvc kd-lh300 when i insert a cd it shuts down is there a fix for this

It is important to know if your battery is holding 12v. Because it turns off when mech is used can mean your battery is low and radio is pulling too much current. If you tested this with another battery or on a power supply and continues to happen, this is an internal issue.
