Sticking drum There would appear to be something jamming inside the drum. On manually turning the drum it sticks and needs extra force to get it past the obstruction. This results in horrendous noise on spin cycle. How do you get behind the drum??

Washing machine drum seems to be jammed. Filter is clear. Drive belt seems to be intact OK and intact. Any suggestions?

sounds like something jammed between the inner and outer drum.
sometimes people get curtain hooks jammed in there. Obviously turn off the power before you start dismantling it. Sometimes you can get access via the drain plug opening with a long screwdriver or something.

Our bosh wfk2801 has started to squeak badly from inside of the drum- sounds like it needs oiling - ! Any ideas? Thanks Ben

Check if there is any object such as a nail or some of that nature sticking thru the spinner drum that could touch the outside drum

The drum on my Hotpoint WMA454 appears to be jammed, it only moves a small distance without resistance. The belt is attached and ok and there is no noise as if it is the bearings, just won't move.

What you have probably got is an article of clothing that has found its way in between the two drums. Remove the belt without forcing it then carefully retry and rotate the drum. If spungy, yes something is stuck between the drums. Shortest possible way to remove the obstruction is to remove the heating element and carefully look into the hole once element is out. 90% of the time the clothing is jambed around the element. Use long nosed pliers or a wire with a hook and remove. Retry and turn drum. If free to rotate, replace element and retry once all is assembled.

When i turn the drum it sounds like something metal is rubbing on it, what can that be

the usual culprit is a rogue bra underwire which has gone through the holes in the drum. feel round inside the drum it be still sticking through a hole if so grab it with a pair pliers and pull it back. failing that if you take the heater out you can recover it through the aperture.

My WD440 has trown its drive belt and something

it sounds like there is a sock or something simular stuck between the drum and tank, the paddle is removable which may help you hook out the item,if you grab the drum paddle from the rear and pull it towards you it will then lift up,once you have removed the offending item, you just line up the slots on the drum with the pegs on the paddle and push towards the rear of the machine and you will here a click, this means the paddle is secure.

Scrapping sound

likely something else like bra wire sticking up from drain hose rubbing basket. remove front kick panel or rear panel and remove large hose from bottom of tub. clip usually positioned in rear. if unit with heater then heater and clip can be felt inside tub. check inside hose

Drum wont turn

Sounds to me like the rear bearing is seized up. Seeing how you describe its been noisy for ages I would say the porblem is the bearing. Its not a easy jub to replace for a novice. The entire tub must be removed and taken apart to replace the rear bearing. To take the case apart its only the front panel with the door that that will come off. there should be a wire with a spring that holds the bellows to the door. remove that and the rest should come apart from the inside. Dont forget to disconect the dor switch.
