SOURCE: large rubber door seal came apart

Yes it can be put back on without taking the drum apart. The larger end goes on the drum side. Fit larger end around drum lip make sure it seals all the way around, install spring around seal. Smaller end goes around door opening. Install seal around outter lip and install spring around seal.

Dirty rubber part attached to drum

The ring is held on the outer lip by a wire and spring which you remove with a small screw driver the back is held by a large hose clamp. I would rcomend just replacing it for the hassle of this relatively difficult repair. Tip use liquid detergant when puttinr spring part back on, it will go back on youll need a little persistance.

Drum not spinning & springs wrong way round?

To replace the belt hold in place on motor & feed onto pulley. The springs are on correctly but it seems one of the suspension legs is not doing its job. This may have occured when turning upside down & would explain distorted door seal. Thanks again for using fixya.

Door rubber for Zanussi Jetstream Excel 1200

Hi.
It is a sod to get the spring on .
Make sure the rubber is on securely, and then gradually feed the spring round the rubber starting at the top.

It will get more difficult the further round you get, If you can get someone to hold the spring for you when part way round, you will get it on.
You can also try stretching the spring, which will make it easier to get on .

Good luck.

How to fix anew door seal on a Zanussi FL1081

turn off atmains
remove the clamp that secures seal to cabinet and peel away the seal.
the seal is held onto the tub by a large spring. at bottom, pull hard down and out and seal will come away.
on new seal, lubricate the slot that goes onto the drum rim with washing up fluid.
start the slot onto the drum rim at the top and work your way round in both directions pressing slot onto rim. this is quite hard work and you may need several attempts.
when slot is on rim all the way round, refit the spring into the outer slot of the seal. this is quite difficult and an extra pair of hands helps
refit seal onto cabinet rim - this is easy and refit outer clamp.
test on rinse cycle for leaks as the water level is higher.
water will foam till the washing up fluid is washed away
note that the seal has a specific way up indicated by an arrow

Metal ring aroound rubber seal fell off.

Start with the spring at the bottom, work the retainer around until the seal starts to pull away from the washer. Now grip the loop that the spring attaches to on the side that isn't in place and open the retainer. Push the retainer in place and release the spring.

How to replace rubber door seal

when you open the door you find a this wire clamp round the edge of the door seal, this just comes off with little force, this has to go back on obviously so don't bend it, the door seal just folds back on itself, the clamp on the drum end is often a large thin spring, and that also just pulls off, the seal then also comes away with a little pull, the new seal is fitted with the groove either side of the drum lip, then the spring is put back, take note how all is removed before working on it? the front of the seal is fitted then the wire, close the door to check a tight but easy fit, check for any leaks and correct fitting before leaving machine unattended any time, sound worse that what it actually is, if i have helped rate me,

Bosch washing machine

i am recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years, the rear door seal clamp is generally nowadays a large thin spring that is slightly hidden by the concrete weights at the front of the drum, if thats the case the door seal will just come off with a good firm pull round the drum edge, fitting as a reverse of removal, place the door seal in the groove so it fits like it should, then stretch the spring and fit that into the outer groove round the lip of the door seal at the drum end, once that is done fit the seal on the front panel lip, then replace that clamp, check all is fitted securely before running machine its one of those jobs that hard to explain how to do it, hope i have helped a bit, its easier to work through the front door opening than from above? if i have please rate me thank you
