Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
It sounds like it is the common fault with the dreamcast of poor power connection due to fatigue.
UNPLUG the dreamcast and Remove the screws and take the lid off (one screw is under the modem).
Once the lid is off unscrew and remove the power board (the bit to the left of the console)
There are four or five prongs that stick up from the main board to the power board. Check they are clean, not rusty, and bend them slightly toward the back of the console, only SLIGHTLY so they dont break or snap.
Reassemble, see if that helps.
