The consumer electronics are not too rugged, luckily ebay sell parts camcorders or cameras and you can buy replacement parts cheaper that way. You need a small 000 philips screw driver to take it apart, many plastic parts are snapped together.

Try reformatting the media, if using an SD card, replace it with another and use a PC and format it FAT16 with a PC and USB dongle return it to the unit it should be OK, you may have to format again after you put it in sometimes too.

Hello, i have an Aiptek cam corder and the screen is cracked and now whenever i turn it on more and more blackness is creeping out of the crack and the top of the screen than before, is screen replacable...

i think you will have to buy a new camcorder because if it is creeping out like that it is probably the camera itself, well the crack has something to do with it also, but its the camera,if it was just a crack itself on the camera then you can replace it,if you didnt keep touching it after it cracked it probably would have been alright to just get a new screen, but now its messed up...

The camera is burnt and now its all screwed up.

To put it bluntly, throw it away. Applying the wrong power to equipment can cause too much damage for reliable repair. Even if all the bad parts could be found and replaced, other parts will have been stressed and may fail later. Also it's very likely the circuit board has been damaged as well. Replace the unit, and be very careful to use only the proper adapter in the future.

Solution for aiptek dv4100M

Sounds like this unit has worn out.

I have worn out 2 model 4100's and am now using a 5100. They usually give at least one year of service if used frequently and are pretty rugged. Recently ordered TWO refurbed 4100's from Aiptek for a total cost of $48.00.

Camcorder lcd screen light blue (blank) and camera won't turn off...

Sounds like maybe a connection somewhere inside the camera came loose? Or maybe the camera's firmware (camera's operating system) is damaged? I'm honestly not sure what would cause this. You could try contacting Aiptek customer service or you could post this issue at http://forums.steves-digicams.com/forums/view_forum.php?id=92

and see if anyone there is familiar with this problem.
