The electric element for the steam tank has failed can i get a new element

Of course you can. But is the price of the part low enough to justify it? Often the part price is equal to or greater than the price of the entire shebang.

How many yards will it take to cover 30ft by 40 ft ,4inches deep

Do you mean how many cubic yards it would require to fill a volume occupied by an area of 30 ft by 40 ft by 4 ins deep? If this is what you mean then it would require 11.1 cubic yards. Hope this helps.Sorry I can't help with the cost.

How to Remove Mineral Deposits

Does not heat up

Visual Check:
1. Do you smell burned electrical wire? If none,
2. Check the cord for damage, and the outlet for electricity ((plug in another device and see if it turns on)). If none,
3. Does the water reservoir or iron face have visible mineral deposits (i.e. need cleaning)?

Possible solutions:

1. On COLD, UNPLUGGED iron, clean working surface with non-abrasive cloth.

2. Try Vinegar & Water cleaning to remove mineral deposits (if warranty allows):

Mix equal parts water and white vinegar (abt. 1/3 cup each).

Pour into water reservoir.
Turn on the iron with steam option.
Allow to work, upright, for 2-3 minutes.
Turn all controls to low before unplugging.
Drain into sink ...carefully, it may be hot!
Flush with plain water.
Reheat iron and test on scrap cloth to clear any residue.

BE SAFE and work carefully. If iron still does not heat after thorough inspection and cleaning, the unit may need a qualified technician.

Lost steam pressure

see this causes and fix it.God bless you

Inspect the steam vents from the outside, and use a pipe cleaner or other small utensil to remove any excess buildup that is blocking the vents. Be careful not to let the buildup fall down into the steam vents.

  • 3 Clean the steam iron's directional spray tip. Minerals and other debris can build up on the nozzle over time and will greatly hinder the use of your steam iron.
  • 4 Pour equal parts vinegar and water into the steam iron's water supply tank. Put the steam iron above an empty pot, and turn the iron on. Let it steam the solution until all the water/vinegar solution is gone

Sounds like you need to clean the iron. Try equal parts of white vinegar and distilled water. Fill the reservoir with the mixture, turn iron to highest setting and place the tron on a wire rack in a baking pan lined with ab old towel. Repeat if needed, Rinse iron with a cycle pf distulled water. Clean iron in a ventillated area since vinegar odor will be strong.

Iron will not heat up when it is on. The lights come on when plugged in but not the heat.

Your electric iron probably has an open heating element.. Probably not worth repairing.. since thecost to repair might be equal to the cost to replace.. Wrinkled clothes are making a comeback... ( at least .. in my house..LOL) Good luck my friend !

    Iron Cleaning

If steam iron clogs from minerals in water, follow use-guide directions for cleaning, or use a commercial iron cleaner. A fine needle in the nozzle hole may open it again. Sometimes "steaming" will remove lint clogging the iron; fill with at least 1/4 cup water, set it to "steam", and hold in the air or set flat on wire rack over heat and moisture resistant surface like counter protective mat. Let steam until empty. Using only distilled water in steam irons helps avoid mineral buildup. Or if you have burned stains or darkness on the bottom you can Heat equal parts of vinegar and salt in small pan rub solution on cooled iron surface to remove dark or burned stains
