New hard drive has trouble downloading songs & won't play
I dropped my iRiver and had the hard disc replaced. Now I have trouble downloading songs to it. It takes ages, often freezes during the download process and then, if songs are saved to the iRiver, they often won't play.

Hi there, open iriver again and take new drive out (reinstall hard drive, just an adjustment process). close it up and try to download / play a file.
now if this process dont work, save iriver software to pc and format the hard drive (this will erase the hard drive songs and all)..now reinstall the software from the pc...download your songs back to iriver and you should have a brand new Iriver ihp-140............if heplful feel free to rate

ok, plug it into the pc and run iriver plus 3, if you dont have it, you can download it from the iriver website.
then you connect the iriver.
then open tools>Portable Device>Disk Initialization..
this should format your iriver and give it default settings.
Best way to use the H10 20gb is by creating a directory on your hard drive with your desired mp3 format files. Use ripping and encoding software with your existing audio cds. Connect the h10 to the PC via the UMS trick (see this website).
Using a file directory on your pc, drag and drop the mp3 files from your pc to the MUSIC file folder on the h10. Install and run the EASY10 playlist creator software on your pc to organize the new files on your iRiver player. Disconnect the USB connection and enjoy!
whenever my iriver h300 is turned on, i get this message 'check hdd connection' while the device is booting. although i had over 2000 songs and 400 folders, the device now shows 0000 (zeros) for both songs and folders. i guess they cant be accessed anymore. how do i get around this problem
They don't make a battery for the player. My experience with iriver is that they only replace your player with another refurbished one if it's under warranty. Contact iriver.com and go to support, they will help you to a certain point. Sounds like some music files are corrupted, did you download them from Limewire? Lots of nasty stuff out there. Remember your player is a Hard Drive just like your PC and can be damaged by improper disconnect from your PC.
