Question about Compaq Presario sr1055cl PC Desktop
How to remove floppy drive
Remove the side panels on your desktop computer. The floppy drive will be attached to the drive bay with 4 screws (2 on each side of the floppy drive) or by a plastic slide clips. After removing the screws, remove the power cable and the data cable from the back of the floppy drive and then you can slide the floppy drive either to the back or the front of the drive bay to remove the floppy drive from the desktop case.

Floppy drives are very cheap and easy to replace, another option, you might consider if you have a USB slot is to purchase an external floppy drive.
External's cost a little bit more but they are portable and you don't have to open the computer to install them.

Please try using different options.
My computer>right click>properties>hardware devices>check the appropriate device>right click and then click update and then select your driver location and install.
This involves installing driver directly through its provided setup file, if available, and following on screen instructions.
If all does not work, please go to the concerned site of HP online and download the respective updated software as there is a possibility that software has been corrupted.
Please let me know if all does not work, then I will look for other alternate options for your problem.

Hi....If the computer will not start and you hear no fans or other electrical sounds chances are the power supply has failed. If you had an electrical storm that caused the blackout and did not have a surge protector power strip it could be much worse. Check the power supply first. You can google for help in testing that supply. Good Luck Hank
