Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
Kenmore 417.44082400 manufactured 5\05. Noted after large towel load, towels still very wet. Appears to not have spun out. Entered Diag mode and got code E50. Also E20. Researched alot on web and your site. Removed bottom face to clean impeller and hose. No debris (no capture screen in this unit). One-way flap unobstructed. Had unplugged apx 4 hours. Reassembled and plugged back in and still appears to be in Diag mode. Beeps 5 times every 15 seconds and flashes all 5 lights and reads E50 again. Your help is appreciated...Update before posting this.Replugged back in and no longer in Diag mode. No longer showing E50. (not sure why when before, was unplugged 4 hours!) When Dial is turned to a laundry setting, minutes show on digital display and the "LOC", but door can still be opened and then reads "Err". If START is pushed, "Err" again. I suspect door latch, but dont want someone to just agree with me. Need someone qualified based on symptoms to tell me thier ideas. Im very mechanical and work in service at auto dealer. I think thats all symptoms i can recall. Thanks again :-)
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The LOC code merely means the control responded and locked the door. You'll find a tech sheet under the top panel of the machine to help guide you thru the diagnostic process, which is fairly involved.
LOC means it thinks the control panel is locked. This gives the ERR indication when you push the buttons. To unlock it you need to hold down the Options and Select buttons together until it reacts.
I know this may seem silly but - On the top right back corner of your washer hit it with medium force with your fist, this helps.
