Cleaner head will not lock on dyson dc25

The upright feature is working, but the cleaner head won't stay locked. My wife found a screw on the floor, but I can't seem to find where it belongs. When you lift up the vaccuum the front clean head brush assembly just hangs down...will not lock

This happens when the screw in the swivel lock arm comes out. Seperate the ball by removing the 4 T10 torx screws holding it together. life the top part of the ball off, flip the vacuum over (the other half of the ball will spin to the bottom, allowing the swivel lock arm to be seen. The arm has a large round tension attached and will probably be hanging by the spring only. Rotate the arm back into place, making sure it engages, but is under the red lease lever. Replace the washer and screw (a #6 washer works well). Snap ball back together and put the 4 screws back in. That's it!

The red thing you step on to lock and unlock it has two metal Dells that go into a sliding track sometimes they fall out into the whole of you have to manually you let them pretty hard and put him back in the track I just fixed mine its weird cuz when they're in the holes it like locks and it looks like it's supposed to be like that but its not pull them out really hard and put them back in the track where they belong

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC25 doesn't include a dedicated reset switch - instead, the reset mechanism is built into the main on/off and brush control switches.

Once you've checked the cleaner head for obstructions and removed any threads or hair from around the brush bar and endcap, you should be able to resolve your issue by following the simple steps shown in our support video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q--faamcC7g

If you're still having difficulties, please get in touch with us, free, on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US), so we can run through some checks over the phone.

My dyson dc25 won't lock in the upright position

The DC25 Animal has a design flaw where part of the Duct Assembly (main part of the vacuum) where the Red lock bar goes over breaks off the Duct Assembly and it causes the DC25 to not be able to stand up normally. There is a short Youtube video describing this flaw.

Unfortunately, you can repair this except by replacing the entire duct assembly.
