The plug on the fireplace keeps burning out. I had the fireplacefor about 4 yearsa and had to replace the cord as well asthe receptacle or our house would have burnt down, We don't want to change it...

Hi Dave
I suggest you have the fireplace checked out.
Check the power rating of the fireplace, the power rating of the power connection, and the power rating of the fuse your house has for this unit. The fuse should be rated a little higher than the fireplace, and this should trip before the plug starts to heat up. It should not burn out.
There may be a short circuit, or the heating element in the fireplace may be faulty.
Get a professional to do this as you and your families safety is most important.

Electric Dbl Wall Oven-loud popping noise at end of self clean

Bill ,i dont suspect the control unit is the problem im going back to the loud pop you heard I would say the pop you heard was one of the elemants blowing and that the reason the the breaker tripped if you say the clock, timer and light functon are ok it more so points to an elemant in most cases when an elemant blows it breaks the circuit .but the other componants also work when you reset the breaker i think in this case bill i would call a electrician it needs testing, sorry i could not help this time bill, but do not hesatate to contact me if i can help you again.adrian

Blank control panel but light works Whirlpool Dbl. Oven RBD305PDS

Probably have a thermal fuse out. Need a test meter to diagnose this, so you may want the reapir man. No point in buying a control if you don't really know what is wrong.... I cannot see your reply due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

Most likely sounds like the thermal fuse has gone out. if you take off the top of the fireplace you will find a little metal tube in front of the blower. This is the thermal fuse if it has gone out only your fan will blow and the heating element will not put out heat. You can pick one of the fuses up at radio shack for 3 dollars. the only problem is how to go about repacing it since it was crimped in and you can't use a soldering iron because it will trip it. If I come up with a way to change it I will let you know so far I can't.

Need help replacing the Broil Element in our Whirlpool Dbl Oven GBD307

It is easy to replace.   Turn power off to the oven.    Remove the screws holding the element to the inside of the oven, Carefully pull the element out of the oven liner until you can unplug the wires from the element. Hook up your new element and ease it into place and re-install screws.

You can get the part from any whirpool servicer or you can order it from Sears.
