Question about Xerox WorkCentre XD100 All-In-One Laser Printer
It needs to be replaced with a new one. There is a blade inside those cartridges, it is called metering blade, What happens is normally on the one side they tuck or just wear out. What that blade does is it puts the proper amount of toner and developer on the roller. When it wears out or tucks you get to much developer and toner mix on the roller and it has nowhere else to go but onto the paper.
Once you replace the cartridge, you need to vacuum the inside of the machine out. It can be diffucult and time consuming to get all that ink and developer out because of all the ribs and hard to access areas in the cartridge and paper feed area. Allowing it to run like that will also ruin the rollers in the fuser. Just take your time with a vacuum and a small paint brush and get it all out. I WOULD NOT recomend using a compressor or canned air because you don't want to blow that particulate matter into the air you breathe, or once you get toner airborne you will be cleaning it up forever.
