There is a latch at the back of your printer that opens so you can remove paper jams from the back. You can start there and then slowly peel away the rest of the paper that jammed...

SOURCE: I have an HP Officejet

hi, it could be that there is to much friction on the slider rod, this is the rod that the carriage slides on when printing it can get dirty and dry. try cleaning it with a lint free cloth and alcohol. then apply a couple drops of a light oil to the rod and spread it on all sides with your fingers. use something like sewing machine oil, dont use wd40.

if that doesn't work then that means that the carriage motor on your printer have gone bad. There are motor parts being sold on the net that you may want to check out first but if that sound inconvenient to you then there is most likely a mechanical issue causing the error with would require the printer be sent to hp for repair. this probably wont be worth the time and money. so be prepared to possibly buy a new printer.

SOURCE: Carriage jam

There's a small locking mechanism that holds the carriage in it's home position. This needs to be slightly sprayed with WD-40 or a similar lubrication (small amount). Problem solved.

The carrier slides back and forth on a bar that must slide smoothly. When you open the printer up, the heads come to the center for cartridge removal, so that part of the bar is oiled. Try lightly spraying a silicone or Teflon spray or a drop of high quality machine oil to the bar where the head will go through it, smearing it along the the bar. Another part is the plastic belt with teeth on it that moves the head from side to side. If the teeth have broken off, the head won't move properly. Some of these printers have an entire head assembly where the cartridges set that can be removed after the cartridges are out. If this print head assembly is damaged or worn out you will also get the error. The head damage is usually because some one yanked jammed paper vigorously out, pushing the head out of position, or the print head was moving when something stopped the head.

Ink cartridges stuck on left side of carriage. Won't move. Tried all of the suggestions and still says carriage jam.

it will be stuck in roller cleaner mode, that is mechanical. the only real way is to push it thether over to the left. with the power off the printer, then close the compartments and turn on the printer it can take 2 o3 goes as it will try to move it right. you have to get it off the clip that is holding it there. the cartridge is held in place to stop it moving while the roller is cleared.

I keep getting the message cartridge jam on my hp psc 2355. A paper jam was pulled out of the front so I know this is the cause but how do I fix it please?

It's not saying carTridge jam, it's saying CARRIAGE jam. Something is stuck under the heads.
unplug the power from the unit, and try to manually move the heads off to the left side, checking for paper under the head as you move it over.
Check the head docking area on the right as well.
Plug the unit back in and everything should be fine once everything is cleaned out.

PIXMA 450...Keep getting paper jam message and I can't see any paper bits anywhere. Trying to open the machine from the back to look inside. Have removed the 4 screws on the back and still can't remove...

Hi

The paper jammed can be found in the paper tray, remove the paper at the paper tray and inspect the roller for small pieces of paper jammed.

The paper can be found in the ink cartridge compartment, open the cartridge door and remove the ink cartridges, look for posibble paper jammer. Also once remove, check also the cartridge carrier if does not stuck up or jammed (cause this might me the problem). Turn off your printer and then move the cartridge head using your hand moving to the from right to left side and from left side to right side for 2-3 times. Move it gently.

Paper can be found in the rear access door if it is accessible. Inspect some paper jammed there.

Please let me know if you need more help

I keep getting error message C000 which tells me to shut down the printer and restart it. How do I fix this. Thanks

1) Make sure the tank holding all the ink cartriges is properly aligned and can move side-to-side.
2) If it is crooked or can't move, check below it for a paper jam -- when the jam is that bad, the C000 appears to override the normal Paper Jam warning.
3) Make sure none of the ink cartridges has run completely out -- I tend to use them until they're bone dry, and got the C000 error....inserting a new cartridge cleared it right up.

I am receiving a printer error C000 what does mean? I've tried everything... help!

Suggestions from my recent encounter with this error:
1) Make sure the tank holding all the ink cartriges is properly aligned and can move side-to-side.
2) If it is crooked or can't move, check below it for a paper jam -- when the jam is that bad, the C000 appears to override the normal Paper Jam warning.
3) Make sure none of the ink cartridges has run completely out -- I tend to use them until they're bone dry, and got the C000 error....inserting a new cartridge cleared it right up.

when inserting cartridges tilt them forward and down so they go under the plastic lip then seat the rear so that the light comes on.
