hope this helps for future refs. if you keep getting the cannot find eligible device message, try first printing a test page (or anything) to the printer. try checking all your cables to ensure they are seated snuggly. try using a different USB port. try rebooting your computer without the printer plugged in, then plug it in and see if your computer recognizes it before trying to upgrade the firmware again. good luck.
