Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE A1 Digital Camera
After a while of the camera not being used I've just turned it on and what I now see through the viewfinder / on the LCD only bears slight resemblance to what it should be showing. When I take pictures it's better but looks way out of focus and distorted, has red tint and it looks like red and blue light from an object hit different parts of the CCD. Is it likely that a lens is out of alignment and if so how hard is that to fix? The zoom lens still works fine and has the same effect. Thanks.
This sounds like a defective Sony CCD issue. If so, Sony will fix your Minolta camera for free (with free shipping) regardless of warranty. You need to do this before March 31, 2008 so get going! See this link:
The Dimage models that Sony is accepting for the recall repair are:
Dimage 7HI, 7I, A1, Xi, F300, XT, X20, S414.

Hi, as per my experience symptoms you described is related to ccd. I think ccd replacement is must.It is really hard and costly to fix this problem but if you have bill and warranty dont worry. Just go to KonicaMinolta shop. good luck...
