got this for a sheltered accomadation for the elderly to watch tv on (big screen) when one watched black and white there is a red haze on the letters in the menu the letters are doubled just off centre to each other eg
"tt" have attempted to focus auto and manual but cannot get a good picture, cannot afford to replace the item now but anyone have a service manual or suggestion i would be grateful
When you have no inputs into the projector let it enter standby mode, then press down, then up, left, then right. This will take you into the service menu. Once in the menu find the adjust option , scroll down to the 3rd line 2111-16 (POS_CNT2) and change that.

if your TV has video output signals for the program you are watching, then you can connect them to the projector.
otherwise you may need to get a cheap digital set top box and tune to the same tv program, and use the video output to feed the projector
if this is an lcd projector, you can try blowing the area out where the lcd come out of the engine, if it is only dust particles you should see results, you may have to repeat the process to get it perfect, and use de-ionized air if available, this cuts down on static. Next, if that didn't work, your polarizers are probably burnt due to repeatedly shutting the projector down incorrectly. The unit is pretty much shot at this point. the cost of repairs likely will exceed what you paid for it.
the best way u need to get external video card (it cost's around 15$ or 20euros) with this u can watch cable tv or satelite tv on ur lap top or pc the next step is to plug projector to pc, lap top etc. that's all If u don't have cable or satelite, there are many sites on web where u can watch tv for free, if u perfer this way u don't need video card, but picture won't be so great also... i'll writh u down one of the free tv internet sites http://wwitv.com/portal.htm
Hello, By any chance is your source PAL? What you are describing is caused by a slower frame rate ie. PAL accompanied by the natural persistence of the human eye. If you reduce the brightness level or turn a light on you will be able to reduce these artifacts.
Yes, if your projector has a video input. Connect your projector's composite video input jack (usually colored yellow) to your video source. You said you want to use it to watch TV, so you'll want to connect it to the video output of a video tuner (such as a digital TV converter box) or a VCR with a built-in tuner. Set your projector to the video input and you're good to go! If your only tuner is your television, you'll need to check your owner's manual to see if it has an "output" jack. Some do, some don't. If yes, you're in luck. If not, try one of the other sources I mentioned earlier. Good luck!
A warning in the manual was given as to be carefull when using this projector with games as some parts of the screen will not move, just like if you watch Tv on it and there is a channel logo in one corner that doesn't move!
It burns the display like it would on a pc monitor if no screen saver set.
This is not a problem you can fix, that is perminant damage to the lcd in the projector!!
