lg env3 broken qwerty

cant use my interior qwerty board... need to delete my messages! please dont tell me I'm screwed..

LG VX9200 w Broken internal screen
Clearing all txt messages (except locked)
with a closed phone from the external screen:
go to menu -> messaging
you should see{1. New txt
2. Inbox }
and so on
open phone
inside:
press right silver key below screen
press 4
press up
press ok

into your opitons in the message screen and turn on auto erase and it will erase the read text messages when in reaches the full amount with out you having to manually delete them yourself and it will keep the picture .
