I ordered the part and picked it up but it looks totally different then what is on the refridg. Is there two boards? mine only has 5 plugs total to the board and everyone I look at or get has 6 plug spots. are they interchangable?

OK now i have changed the mother board and the freezer is working great but now the fresh food side is not getting cold. what could that be?

  • SWIRLGRIL Nov 04, 2008

It has run over 72 hours. I did notice that there is no air flow in the top where the air damper is. Could this be broke? if so how would i fix or replace that as the motor is confined within the housing of the freezer/ff section. it goes up if forced but does not stay up longer then one minute.

Yes, interchangeable. You may not have to use all the plugs. I believe the WR55x10552 supersedes all previous part numbers. Note that the plastic mounting posts need to be squeezed with a pliers to release the old board.

You don't say how long the unit has been running since you replaced the board. All the cooling for your (and most) refrigerators takes place in the freezer section. The fan in there circulates air in the freezer and blows some into the refrigerator section to cool it. You might want to check the coils in the freezer section to make sure they are not blocked by frost build up. If FF section is warm, you should be able to feel cool air coming out near the top of the FF section (from the freezer). If not and FRZ fan is running and FRZ coils are clear, there may be a problem with the air damper in the top of the FF section. But, don't start fixing too soon. Make sure you have given the unit a chance to run awhile, like at least 12 hours, before you start looking for problems that might not even be there.

There are no service bulletins regarding this issue with your model. If the damper door remains closed, and you indicated that it closed within a minute after you forced it open if I read your post correctly, so that's telling me the the refrigerator thinks it is cold enough. Refrig temp is regulated by the temp sensor (WR55X10025) the damper / thermistor asm (WR09X10050) and the encoder board asm (WR55X10150), which I listed in likely order of failure.

I have a Hot Point refrigerator model No. HSS25GFTA WW. I changed the filter but water still not coming out of the despencer, every thing else is working normal.

Sometimes you will need to purge the air out of the line after changing the filter. Just hold down the water dispenser for a few seconds every hour or so.

Hotpoint ice/water dispenser will dispense ice but not water

You may have a blocked filter. Has this even been changed since you have hook-up the water line, or did you recently just install a new filter. If so it may not be in right correctly. try removing it and reinstalling it.

Refrigerator makes ice and dispenses ice, but does

could be valve, it is located underneath on back. it also could be the mother board. Check valve with ohms metter. Also make sure water resevior or water lines are not frozen inside refrig section. Also water feed line going up through door bottom hinge on freezer is not frozen. Disconnect at couplin at left bottom front and blow through line

Inside my side by side freezer side (hss25gfta ww)

The ice maker water inlet valve has failed allowing water to pass when it is not supposed to pass. The water valve is item 800 of this link. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5203104&diagram_id=24933031#d24933031

Changing the water valve most always returns the ice maker operation back to normal.

Hotpoint refrigerator hss25gfpj ww, clicking constantly, not cooling!!!

Recently had a friend with the same problem. Found that one of the power supplies on the board had a blown capacitor. This allowed the relay on the board to energize but not enough voltage was being sent to hole the relay closed. Basically a blown board was the problem. I found the wiring diagram very informative, it was hidden behind the temprature potentiometers.
