Frigidaire refrigerator wont cool or freeze

Hi Teddy,

It's my understanding that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# MRS20WRGW2, has power with the lights coming on, it's just not cooling in the freezer or refrigerator portion. Since you are receiving power to the appliance, I would check to see if you can hear the compressor running. If the compressor is not running that might be why your refrigerator is not cooling. Still, I would contact a local authorized technician, for a full diagnosis. This way it can be determined what exactly is the cause of the NO COOL issue.

-Best Regards-

My FRS24ZRH refrigerator quit making ice. How do I determine what is wrong?

Either your inlet valve is bad or your icemaker is bad. Change the inlet valve first it's cheaper. It is located in back behind the screw off panel. It is the object that your water line is connected to. Hope I helped. Also make sure your freezer did not freeze up the tube up top behind icemaker. If you don't check that your inlet valve still won't work with a tube of ice in the way of the water. Good luck. Rate me if I helped.

I have a frigidaire model FRS24ZRH side by side ....about a 2000 model, and we keep finding puddles of water coming from underneath it. This unit also has frozen ice in the bottom of the freezer, I can...

Good day,
Assuming the temperatures in the machine are normal.
Your drain system is either iced or frozen.
Machine must be off to perform the following.
In the freezer compartment, remove the bottom back panel. Remove what ice you can but use little heat, and no chipping. Real hot water, and lots of towels are best.
Once you get the ice melted out, you will see a hole, below the cooling coil that drains the water to the drain pan. Keep pouring extremely hot water into the hole to see if it will open. If not,
Service techs use compressed air with a hose, to blow the drain open, backward. From the drain hose at the drain pan back into the freezer compartment.
If you have access do as the pros do, but if not, repeated use of an extremely hot water with a weak solution of bleach may get the job done.
I use a tire pump with a 1/4 inch fitting on the end to clear drains,
In either case that will have to be done.
Do not rush this process. Time is your friend here.

Once done, make sure you don't see ice streaks running down the coil. The ice maker fill tube can cause this problem, if it is dislodged.
Should solve the puddles of water on the floor as well.

Thank you for using FixYa

FRS24zrh Side by Side Fridge was not cool enough then freezer started warming up, defrosted everything, vacuumed underneath, worked fine for about 12 hours and now seems to be warming again

I had the same sort of problem. Found that the freezer would not completely defrost on each defrost cycle. Replaced the defrost thermostat and solved the problem.

Hope this helps.

Water leaking underneath refrigerator/water freezing in bottom of freezer

I'm dealing with the same problem right now with the same refrigerator. The cold water tank (for the front dispenser) has a hole in it that leaks every time someone dispenses water from the front door. You will find the water tank behind the top slide-out drawer in the fridge. The leaked water flows down one of the water tubes through a hole in the bottom of the fridge and onto the floor. I'll bet you have the same problem. Good Luck.
