LOST WIRELESS CONNECTION - LIGHT NOT ON

    WG 624 v4 wired connection works fine. but, wireless stopped working this morning. have tried disconnect, reboot, etc. have two laptops. Neither receives. The blue light (for wireless function) on the router flashes every now and then.

    Power light flashes when I connect to power, but will go off after a couple of seconds.

    Then internet light goes amber (steady) and ports lights go green (steady).

    No lan and no wifi connection.

    I guess it's ready fro the bin.

    I am going to buy a new router.

Please try to remove the powercable from the router and then plug it back in the router after 1 min ....

if it still doesn't work then try to reset it ... if the problem still prevails then u can contact on netgear customer care as they will provide u the replacement ....

I have a DG834N wirelss router, it has recently kept doping the netwrk connection both wireless and wired, the only way to overcome the problem is to reboot the router, any idea why or solutions?


Sometimes the ISP (Internet Service Provider) might have done something on their network that is causing it.

Try removing the power cord from the modem and the router. Then plug the power cord into the modem only and let it cycle up for about 2 minutes. Then plug the power cord into the router and let it cycle up.

If it still drops, then the router could be going bad.

After firmware upgrade the no wireless signal and the router is not recognized by my laptop even if I connect it thru lan cable


You may have taken a bad update try factory default if you get in try to download from verified site new firmware
reset to factory default

press and hold reset button during the whole process and only release when completed.

1)press reset button 30 seconds
2)remove power cable 30 sec
3)plug in power cable 30 sec and then release.

You should no be set for 192.168.1.1
username admin
password is password

Does netgear dg834n come with an out of the box password.Bought second hand one but did not get password


To RESET the Netgear, power up the Netgear then press andhold the RESET button at the back of the router until all the LEDs flash.Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on yourcomputer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = passwordYou can now change the default admin password and configurethe wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption.
Apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

I lost my password and lost the WGT624 installation CD, how can i get the router to work on a new laptop


If you have lost the password to access the router page then you have to reset the router

Ensure that you have all the details regarding your internet connection before resetting the router

If you reset the router you can run the smart setup wizard and get connected by entering correct information in all the pages of the wizard

If you are looking for the wireless password:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Access your router page ( Open Internet Explorer --> Type 192.168.1.1 and enter it--> Login name(default)-admin, Password(default)-password) --> GO to wireless settings,under Wireless settings you will find the wireless password.

Open any web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. In the address bar, enter "192.168.0.1" and press the enter key. This will bring up the login prompt for most Netgear wireless routers. If that doesn't work, try "www.routerlogin.net", "192.168.0.5", or "10.1.10.1" until the login window appears.

Should be able to acces it from the web interface.

Why is the transfer rate of wn111v2 only about 1% of max?


Perhaps it has to do with the speed of the Network Connection?

Connection problem. shows limited connectivity and disconnects


limited connectivity means you didn't get an IP address. Is the router set to give addresses via DHCP, or is another PC doing that? Most common cause of this problem is wrong authentication (normally "open") or encryption type (WEP, WPA or WPA2). Pklease note that encryption keys can be set as HEX or ASCII, if they are HEX it will be only numbers 0 to 9 and letters A-F. ASCII can be anything.

since the wireless light is not glowing what we can do is we can go ahead and reset the wireless router,
look at the bottom of the router and you will see the routers labelling,check where the reset button is located,it will be on the back where you have the port,use a paper clip or something that is pointed and hold it down for about 30 sec you will see that all the lights will blink on the router,leave the reset button after that power off the router for 60 sec and then power it on....check if the wireless light is on....it shud be on now..

Does it boot in Safe Mode?
Remove and re-seat this card, then reinstall the drivers.

NetGear Wireless Router - continous internet connection drops


Hi sharon,

If you  upgraded the software but still the connecitons is droping then contact the ISP (the internet service provider ), Because it is possible that they have something wrong thier side,,,THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN AS INTERMITTENT SYNC OR ROUTE,,, check the lights on your router , when the internet goes down which light changes,,,

and once you confirm that the problem is not with your ISP then you need to purchase a new router,

reply which is the ISP you are subscribing for.
