Re: cannot get sound from tv to surround sound speakers
You will need to connenct audio cables red and white from audio out on tv or from programming source(cable box sat box) to the audio in on back of jvc unit. then set unit to appropiate source (where you connect cables on back of unit it will be labaled and remote will have button to get to that connection labeled the same) if you want to get digital sound you will need and digital coaxial or fiber optical cable from source(cable box or sat box) and then set unit to video 1 for coaxial and video 2 for optical

your new tv probalby has an hdmi output. depeding on how old your jvc system is, iit may or may not have an hdmi input. not to worry, there should be some type of compatible output on the tv to send audio signal to the jvc. first look at the back of the jvc and see whats there. then look at the tv and you should see compatible output on tv and run proper cable to input on jvc. some auxillary audio outputs on the tv are driven by the volume of the tv itself, so make sure to turn the volume on the tv up a llittle to make sure its sending signal. you may have to go into the tv menu and turn the internal tv speakers off so you dont hear them and the jvc. its not a big deal if your hearing both, it just wont be true surrond sound. if it were mine, id turn the tv speakers off.
Hi, You have to make sure you are using the "audio out" from the dvd/surround into the "audio in" on your TV also in some case TVs will need to change the "input" with your remote to see where you connected your dvd/sur also some TVs have a switch for "n" or "off" for internal speakers and also you could have that option in your audio menu on your TV, Hope it help, good luck. Mike
Not sure how you're hooked up or what model TV you're using. If you mean the TV sound through RCA cables is the source and you're wondering why it's not surround. Well, it's not multichannel. Please fill in some details.
You might have the connections wrong. If there is component in on you tv(red, green, blue) then use the for the best picture. Other wise use the yellow composite video out to the yellow video in on your tv
