Stb4278 scanner won't scan in frames, beeps three times, what do I do?

Hi,, ok the beeping means it scanned, however, the tones after it means that there is not response from the application sever. Let me explain. The bar code scanner is OPOS, and requires POS software for it to work right. in other words its designed specifically for POINT OF SALE DEVICES. 1 such program is cash register express.

what happens is the scanner, scans, sends it to the pc, the opos software takes the info, and sends back a message saying thanks, the scanner isnt getting the thank you message and thats why it appears a bit grumpy with the tones and all.

Any POS software will work, you just need to install it, setup the devices propperly on it and caliberate it which can be tricky for people. dont wory i am not letting go out in the cold alone.

That is the getting started ,manual with full detailed instructions in setting up the device in CRE (cash register express).. same principle is used in any pos .. OPOS can be complicated and scary, but use that guide and you'll be fine.. Is in pdf format and requires adobe acrobat reader to open, more than likely you already have that. so just save a copy or print it out.

PS the manual has instructions for cash draws and printers as well..
