Question about Amprobe R-115S Remcon Relay Switch

1 Answer

My circuit has separate transformer, can I use r115s? Are there modifications that need to be made?

Will the external transformer damage the r115s since it has its own internal transformer?

Likely it will damage it; the Remcon/Amprobe will work with the existing switches; just don't connect any wires from the external transformer

I want to hook up a 220v motor and a 110v motor with one switch

this will be interesting on one switch
110 volts motor running on 220 volts will end in a flash and plenty of smoke
and a 220 volts motor running on 110 volts will over heat and smoke as well
unless you have some form of transformer to one of the motors it is a recipe for disaster

After just turning on my isyphony tv. It starts to dim slowly than powers off. Why is that?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

Check its main power supply regulator section too. Either it will be on a separate board, or on the part of its main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit; if any. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

Thermostat is new but no 24 vac at contactor

If you are handy with meters and electrical work try this.
Somewhere there is a small transformer that supplies the 24volts.
If you trace the wires from the contactor coil back to the big circuit board then the transformer is probably on that board. Make sure you are tracing the COIL wires. If the wires go to a small transformer mounted separately then your in luck. That transformer steps down the voltage to 24 volts used as a "control" voltage for the unit. If you have 24vac output at the transformer, and no 24vac at the contactor then a control or thermostat circuit is open.

I need to replace the power transformer on my Yamaha CP-30, Who is the expert on these?

Are you going to replace it yourself or are you looking for a CP300 expert? If you are going to replace it yourself, are you sure it needs replacing? Transformers are seldom a problem in any circuit. If you are needing an expert on Yamaha, look your local directory for a Yamaha Warranty service center. There are many independent shops who have this authorization which gives them access to all the factory technical data and schematics, parts lists etc. The transformer is easy to replace if needed, it is separate from the power supply printed circuit board and is screw mounted.

Where I can get mains transformer KLT5P035YE for Teac A-H300? Thanks

I know this thread is a couple of years old, but this may help someone with the same problem.
There doesn't seem to be a supply of A-H300 transformers for direct replacement, but you can utilise the transformer from the MKII version of the amplifier with a little modification.
The output voltages from the MKII transformer are exactly the same, but two of the connectors have changed, so you will need to salvage these connectors from the original transformer to modify the MKII version.
The physical size is also a little different, but it will fit. I found that I had to remove the excess 'tags' that remain on the lower circuit board to give enough space for the transformer to align with two of the original mounting holes & I drilled one extra hole in the replacement tranformer baseplate so that a third screw could be used.
Hope this helps someone!

I have a Remcon - R115 relay - - I have been told that they are no longer made - - must go to the R115S or the R120S. True? Options?

Yes, you need to go with the 115S (the 120S is the closet light - 2 wire - product.
Options GE RR7 relays, but they have no integral transformer
(also you could ebay for an old remcon device ( the one that the amprobes replaced :) )
Hope thi shelps

One year outdoor lighting (300V #135708) Transformer not working

You need to disconnect the lighting load completely from the transformer and check it's output. If it is dead unloaded, replace the transformer. If it seems to work now, then some part of the lighting circuit has probably shorted out. If there are several circuits coming to the transformer, attach each one separately and recheck for power. When one is attached that kills the output, investigate that circuit. Check for any broken lamps first, then the wiring must be opened at each lamp location to check for a local short circuit. A somewhat tedious fix. Hope this helps!

It would be easier to change the 220 circuit in your house to a 110 by some creative work in the breaker panel and making it an air condtioner circuit only. You would need to check with an electrician, but would probably be worth it in the long run.
