You have a problem that causes a short of the battery contacts. I would recommend looking at the switch first and also look at the contacts on the battery for burning.

Either bad batteries or a bad charger. You can use a multimeter to test for DC voltage output in the charger.

Check on the bottom of the handle where the battery attaches. Dewalt stamps the 'made-on-date' in the plastic there. This is the date repair centers use for warranty repairs if you don't have a receipt.

How do I unlock the chuck to get the bit out

Finally got it the normal way. Put the drill in reverse. Hold the outside ring very firmly and slowly run the drill (in reverse direction). It was stuck. After about 5 bursts on the trigger, it finally came unstuck.

Hi, soak the chuck in crc overnight then put the drill in low speed and reverse. Hold the chuck by hand or with multi grips and pull the trigger. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

What is the black slide at the top of the drill driver that has positions 1 and 2?

That is your torque, if you put it at 1 is runs slower but puts more power into it if you put it on 2 it runs faster but less power. I usually start with 2 and if it won't drive it in all the way put it on 1. Good Luck

Laptop not showing light, power button not turning on, AC adaptor light constantly beeping faintly

Unplug the power cable... Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds... Plug cable back in and check for light... If this still didnt work, then unplug cable again, take battery out, wait 10 seconds.... Put battery back in, plug cable back in and this should allow you to boot...
