I also have this problem with my Acer netbook. I have only had it for 4 months and am in Turkey on an extended break at the moment. I have taken the netbook to a dealer here and have been told the problem is the motherboard, verified by Acer themselves. I am not happy with this as the netbook was not cheap and there appears to be a few Acer models with the same problem

Hi there to solve my problem I updated the firmware in my phone by downloading theme manager v3.2 and efs media builder and followed online instructions and for some reason this seems to have done the trick and i now also have 11 pages of new themes for my lg viewty including the iphone theme but unless your phone is knackered its worth backing up your phone first.there is instructions how to do this on the same sites as the instructions to install the other stuff.

Here is another thing you can try. Unplug the power cord, and then remove the battery. Press the "Start" button and hold for 5 seconds. Replace the battery back into the computer and plug in the power cord. Start the machine and see if the low battery message still comes up. Sometimes the program that monitors the battery status gets confused. Doing the above should straighten it out. The Acer should start up and the AC power light should be lit. Look down in your task bar for the battery Icon or go to Battery Status in Control Panel and see if it shows that the battery is charging. Even newer batteries can go bad (rare) but if this is the case and a cell has shorted out in the battery, then your only recourse is exchange under warranty.
