Question about Sharp LC Televison & Video
This TV just gives me a steady blinking green Power Indicator. Unplugged for hrs. Reapply power and same result. I have electronics background and have fixed many lcd's with bad caps before. If I press the vol down, input and power and hold the tv resets and the power indicator turns red. I then hit the power button and the unit powers on after few seconds (the power indicator stays yellow tho) I removed back and inspected and all the caps look to be in excellent shape (I know this doesnt mean they are good) the Main Control board (with all the inputs and video chipset on it) has a yellow SM LED that is flashing steady when I reboot and power on. If I cut it on and off after doing the vol, input and power reset it will keep cutting on and off for a short time till I unplug the unit. Once I unplug it then I go back to the blinking green power indicator and nothing happens. When it does cut on after I do the reset, i leave it on the tv tuner but it cuts off after a few minutes (but I think that is becuase there is no video signal and it goes into power save mode?) Any help would be greatly apperciated..
Okay, I found the problem. There is a problem with the
ccfl (lamp) groung PCB. Mine is completely burnt through. I am going to attempt to repair it, but will likely need to extract it from a different unit. This board is on the front right of the lx in the lamp housing behind the
lcd panel. What is happening: The inverter circuit on the power supply is detecting that one of the lamps is not lighting and it goes into shut down.
Hope this helps!
