Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional for PC

Printing of E mail

The printer prints properly for all programs except when I try to print my E mail messages. Then you can barely see what is written.
When i try to use the cheaper program for getting on line, it tells me that there is a loose wire but I can get on line with the more expensive one. Why?

Try checking the accessibility settings on your Macbook. You may have zoom and/or font enlargement on your screen that does not affect your printer.

Also, does this happen with all printing, or only from certain applications? Have you tried printing with a different program?

Newly installed photoimpression 4 cannot find my printer/scanner, what can I do?


Ensure the the printer/scanner is installed properly, and can be found in your printers and devices (which can be found in your control panel.) If it is in there, make sure it's your default printing device, and try printing a test page. If all of that works but it still cannot find your printer, check in the program's preferences (usually tools > options or tools > preferences) and see if you can find a way to define what printer you need to use.

Hi, what OS are you using? Is the printer shown correclty in Printers and Devices section (Start->Control Panel->Devices and Printers). You may have to re-install printer driver for your OS. You can obtain it at printers manufaturers site. (e.g www.canon.com)

Quicken will not print. Program aborts after error message: Problems communicating to printer: "Dell Photo Printer 944" The specified resource name cannot be found in the image file.


Hi,

Ensure that your printer is online and all cables are securely attached.

(i) If your printer is on a network, ensure that your network allows you permission to access the printer.

(ii) If you are printing to paper, ensure that the Quicken PDF Printer is not selected.
(iii) If you have more than one printer:

(iv) Ensure that you have selected the correct printer in Quicken. (Select the QuickenFile menu, select Printer Setup, and select the item you want to print. Be sure the correct printer shown in the Printer field. For example, if you are printing a report, select File > Printer Setup > For Reports/Graphs.)

(v)Try making another printer the default printer.
Microsoft Windows Vista:
Click the Microsoft Windows Vista logo (Start button) and select Control Panel.
Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer.

Select the printer and click the Set as default command button.

Microsoft Windows XP:

Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Printers and Faxes.

Right-click a printer and select Set as Default Printer.

(vi) Try printing from WordPad or Notepad to be sure Windows is communicating with your printer.

Click the Microsoft Windows Start button, select All Programs or Programs, select Accessories and select WordPad or Notepad.
Enter some text. Select the File menu and select Print.

(vii) If your file does print from WordPad or Notepad, try reinstalling the printer or printer driver.
(viii) If your file does not print from WordPad or Notepad, it probably means that Windows is not communicating with the printer. Check your Windows printer settings.

Regarding the chat we had recently, I've found yet another converter that is supposed to enable transferring files between Works 4.5 and Word 2000:

I suggest you start by uninstalling Word (control panel | add/remove software) and reinstalling it. You can also try reinstalling the printer driver. Ask again if this doesn't resolve your problem.

Check the email print settings. If settings are ok, do a repair for your software using the control panel->add/remove programs.

Cannot print on networked printer


go to control panel>>administrative tools>> services
look for printer spooler. once you fine it stop and restart the service.
