Phone will not connect to network

Hello All! I did not drop my 'mini' but for some reason, the phone part will not work. I can't connect to my network. I did try using other SIM cards but the problem is still there. Tried a soft and hard reset serveral times. No go. I also tried tinkering with the phone settings. Did try the manual and automatic setting for the network. Still won't work. Help. Thank you guys very much.

I have really poor signal most of the time, sometimes it's "emergency calls only" for no apparent reason, sometimes it says the GPRS is detached, sometimes there's just no bars even though i'm...

Are you using an old SIM card? Sometimes a worn out SIM card won't make a solid connection with the metal contacts, resulting in a drop in signal strength.
You might want to look into getting a new SIM from your carrier, and see if that helps.
Otherwise, I am guessing it is a hardware problem with the phone itself.

How can i use operamini in imate spl?

First thing to make sure if it is compatible with your phone is to go to using your phone and it should indicate if Opera Mini is compatible with your phone. And once it is compatible, it will show you a download link for Opera Mini and just download and install it to your phone and everything should work fine.

In setting up the Opera Mini, it will immediately detects the available connection and will ask you for your preferred one. And everything should work fine.

It doesnt allow me to connect to the internet it says its trying to connect to sprint pcs i have it unlocked and on an unlimted everything plan for boostmobie. im just trying to get around the dial to #777...

I wonder if you already tried to go to 'Start > Settings > Connections tab > Wi-Fi > Network Adapters tab' and set the 'My network card connects to:' dropdown menu to 'The Internet'.
Just my 2 cents...
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.

HI, I have an LG viewty 990i . It did not come with any software but I bought myself the usb cable. I cannot however, upload the photos from the camera to my laptop. Can you help me please?

Had exact same problem. I first purchased and fitted a 2 Gb mini SD for the phone to store photos. I then phoned LG support 0844 847 5454 who pointed me to the LG website download

>Support manual/software
>Customer support
>usb drivers
> Model number: KU990i
Serial number: (see phone inside)
IMEI : (see phone inside)

Find the downloads on your computer and install. When you connect your phone you will see it as an extra drive in Windows Explorer. Remember that before you can drag-and-drop from phone to computer (using Windows Explorer) you will need to 'move' you photos to your mini SD (see phone manual). It works a dream.

Does't connect to network - search Network

It sounds like you may have a poor 3G reception in your area. Even though other O2 phones are working better they may be running on the 2G masts in your area.
Try in setting/network menu turning off 3G reception, that way the device will only look for 2G masts. Your handset will give priority to 3G masts where available and sometimes will hold onto the weakest signal making poor call quality, and or dropping connection.
Advantages to using 2G only = better standby and talk time / better reception where 3G is poor.
Disadvantages = Slower web browsing / no video calls.

WEP / WPA will only apply if you are connecting using WI FI and have nothing to do with your mobile network connection.
Hope that helps?

HTC Touch -- Drops Connection to cell tower

I find the HTC touch drops many more calls than other phones I've had. Just doesn't seem to be able to hold a weak signal very well. On my way home from work, I had 2 places where I dropped calls. When I got the HTC Touch, I now have about 4 or 5 places where I lose calls. One additional place is sitting at my desk at work. Very frustrating!

Unlocked Pearl no locking onto network

AT&T devices are integrated software and settings necessary to operate on the network. If GPRS attach is not an issue for you then this is likely the problem.
You could go through your settings, such as network provider, connectivity, etc with settings that come default with AT&T devices, however, AT&T will not support an unlocked phone regardless of previous provider. Find someone with same phone if possible and AT&T as provider, try to copy settings, but typically there are some that are view only and uneditable. You could also go to and download the latest version of handheld software onto the device.
If that doesn't work and a new sim doesn't alleviate problem, you are likely out of luck. No one really supports an unlocked phone.
