Question about Maytag Washing Machines
After 5 minutes after start up machine stop and flashes fo5
F05 code is a water temperature sensor problem, It may be a broken wire at the plug for the heater, I'd recommend removing the back panel there is a plug (2 black wires) if i remember correctly ,one wire was just hanging there, board picks up on that causing sensor code, cut the plug in half and joined wire directly to heater terminal

What does the error code mean do you have any idea Is it mentioned in the Hand book. At any rate logic suggests a watewr supply problem that the first thing a washing machine needs - water. So a tap not turned on a Kinked hose An inlet valve solenoid failure- Three things for you to check

Have you had a storm or power surge lately. May need a new electronics panel installed. That is what happened to mine. Once it is fixed, you should get a surge suppressor that is made for major appliances

This is not a difficult repair. The error indicates a failure of the heating circuit. If you are not sure of how to diagnose this yourself, or require additional assistance, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

The error code
means one or both of these parts are bad.
Motor Control Unit (8540135)
Microcomputer Machine Control Unit (8540788)
It would be a good idea to order both, as both components have been problematic for error code F28
If you find either the MCU or the CCU(Microcomputer Machine Control Unit) fixed it.
You can download the online repair manual in the below link
On page# 4-20 it shows how to access your MCU.
