Question about GPX MW-3847 MP3 Player

Can't get my 3847 to play

I just got a new mp3 player GPX 3847. This is my first mp3 player ever so I have no experience with them. I have downloaded songs on it, Windows Media Player shows that they are on the mp3 but when I connect my ear buds and turn it on, all it says is HOLD and then BYE and shuts down. What am I doing wrong? Please help.
Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Debbie!
Had same problem. The hold button on the side is not for POWER. To turn ON simply hold down on the play button, but you must make sure the hold button on the left side of the player is in the OFF position first. All the button on the left is for is to hold your song while it is playing so it does get paused or changed.
To turn your player OFF do the same thing, just hold down on the play button it will say stop first and then bye. Again make sure your hold button is in the OFF position.
Hope this helps!

Have GPX MP3 player MW3847. Plays out of sequence, eg. plays track 1,3,5,6,4,2 instead of 1,2,3,4,5,6. How can I correct this? Thanks.

Press the 'R' button on the right side (above 'EQ') to cycle through the Repeat modes. Now it is set to 'shuffle' (or random mode).

GPX MW3847 doesn't turn on.

I contacted GPX. It's really easy.
With the left side button in the "off" position, press the "play/pause" button in the center of the circle for 3 seconds. It will then turn on. To turn off, do the same thing, and it will display "BYE" on the screen before powering off.
This was NOT in the instruction manual and they admit this was a mistake on their part.

I cannot get windows xp media player to load anything to my GPX.

I have a gpx mw3847 and I load songs by opening up My Computer, finding my gpx mw3847 and opening it. Then I go to MY Music where I have my MP3 songs and just drag or copy the ones I want over to my Player. I don't use Windows media player to load songs no any of my players

Compatability of GPX MP3 player MW3847 with Windows Vista

I have Vista and when I open MY Computer after I've connected my gpx mw3847 it shows up as GPX (F:). I did not format it. If I right click on GPX (F:), the drop down menu shows a FORMAT item there. But I can drag or copy songs to it without having to format it. The (F:) stands for the drive letter so yours might be different.

The songs i put on my mw3847 sound horrible

There might be an issue with your headphones. Are you using the same headphones with both players? If not, buy new headphones. If so, your port might be going out.
