Question about Levelone CP Tech/Level One WNC-0600 Wireless N_One PCI Card (WNC0600)

Open Question

WNC-600 Connection Problems

I am running Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on a custom built computer, running an ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard, a 6800GT video card, an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ cpu, with a 2 GB set of Corsair CMX1024-3200C2PT RAM.

The problem is that I keep losing the wireless signal and disconnecting. Sometimes right clicking and repairing the connection fixes it, other times I restart and things work well again for a while before it starts constantly disconnecting. I have tried reinstalling windows a couple of times with no help. The problem seems to show up connecting to both routers we have here (one is a b/g router, the other is an N router). Any ideas? Is this a known issue? None of the other people in this house have this problem. Also, the signal strength seems to vary quite a bit on the N router, varying between 100mbps or less up to 270, though there's only one wall between me and the router and the router is maybe 25 feet away straight through the wall....Not sure if that's really related though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Please let me know of any more details that would be helpful.

I have the same exact problem. I've found that sometimes "repairing" the connection works, step 2 is to disable the wireless connection in the network utility, step 3 is to physically remove the card and reinstall the program. Obviously, I'd like to avoid these problems, so I'd be very grateful for some help....we also use 2 laptops off the same router and they never have a problem.

Me too, I have this problem. My PC even locks up and I cannot get the WLAN connection up and running again. I need a reboot, then WLAN works for a while. When I use my 54Mbit card in a laptop or the PCI card in the same PC everything is ok, so it cannot be the router, must be the WNC-0600(USB).
    Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi we have a a8n-sli running win 7 and we can't get an internet connection, says it is missing driver, have tried to download to flash and install but not completely sure we are getting the right...

This motherboard comes with built in LAN capabilities, therefore it is part of the ASUS standard drivers for the board. However, this board does not have a Windows 7 compatible driver set. You can try the Vista drivers but they are unlikely to work. Your other option is to purchase a Windows 7 LAN card for the machine. However as the board is not Windows 7 compatible that is unlikely to help bacuea you will just come across other problems.
I would recommend roll back your operating system to XP or Vista.

Hi I have lost my cd for my A8N-SLI Motherboard for all the drivers where can i download the contents of the cd. Im not very good with computers so installing all drivers seperate would be impossible for...

Go to this website: http://www.driverstock.com/ASUS-A8N-SLI-Premium-driver-download/6-9-10198/index.html

Near the bottom half of the site you should see a list of drivers, these are the drivers that the CD would have contained. I've included a few pictures, the drivers circled in red are the ones you need to download for Windows XP, if you are using Windows 7 then just reply to this solution saying so and I will get back to you about it.

Hi There,

Windows Media Center Edition is exactly that; an "Edition" of XP Pro. If you go to My Computer and then click on System Properties, you will likely be comforted to see that you indeed have Windows Media Center Edition 2005.

Recherche drivers asus a8n-sli premium compatible windows 7 pc qui date de 4 ans qui etait sous xp

From the manufacturer's web-site:

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=nbulqxniNmzf0mH1

I see device-drivers for Windows Vista,
but I do *NOT* see device-drivers for Windows 7.

Try using the drivers for Windows Vista.

Asus a8n sli premium

From the Asus support site.

If you installed total 4GB memory, the system will detect less than 4GB of total memory because of address space allocation for other critical functions, such as:

- System BIOS (including motherboard, add-on cards, etc..)
- Motherboards resources
- Memory mapped I/O
- configuration for AGP/PCI-Ex/PCI
- Other memory allocations for PCI devices

Different onboard devices and different add-on cards (devices) will result of different total memory size.
e.g. more PCI cards installed will require more memory resources, resulting of less memory free for other uses.

On a SLI system, since PCI-Ex graphic cards will occupy around 256MB, another 256MB will be occupied after you install a 2nd PCI-Ex graphic card. Hence, 2.75GB memory left only if two SLI cards installed on A8N-SLI Premium while 3.0GB memory left with one graphic card without other add-on devices.

This limitation applies to most chipsets & Microsoft Windows 32-bit version operating systems.

If you install Windows 32-bit version operating system, we recommend that you install less than 3GB of total memory. If more than 3GB memory is required for your system, then below two conditions must be met: 1. The memory controller which supports memory swap functionality is used. Chipsets later than Intel 975X, 955X, Nvidia NF4 SLI Intel Edition, Nvidia NF4 SLI X16, and AMD K8 CPU architecture support memory swap function. 2. Windows 64-bit OS which can address more than 4GB memory.

Make sure that you have the lastest Firmware installed in your BIOS.

Also run Windows Vista Upgrade Wizard before installing Vista to check for compatability.
