Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
I have a compaq presario (V2000) bought 3 years back and running on windows XP professional.
Till date, it has been formatted just once and that was done by the
vendor itself. Now, the system is dead slow and I wish to format and re
install XP again. I have lost the recovery disk created of the windows
XP professional, is there any way I can get it from my system or from
any other source? also kindly help me in downloading the drivers for
Thanks in advance

I prefer to get an original oem or a copy(check local repair shops around $20-40.00) (you should have a COA on bottom of lappy) of the oem xp os or get it from windows $$$$ it will be a cleaner install. Once that is obtained. go to compaq site download (save & burn to disk or jumpdrive all drivers for your model laptop) back up all data you want to keep boot / install from disk then install driver one by one. sm bus or chipset first. use a good antispyware / antivirus ( I prefer avast 7 windows defender) now downlaod ALL updates from windows updates then enjoy again.
