Canon IP90 reset is detailed in the service manual:

http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/4593750-canon-pixma-ip90-printer-service-manual

You can reset without changing the waste ink absorber but run the risk of ink leaking.

You will need to buy a drain pack for a supported Canon dealer or service company, we can do that but we are based int he uk,

Part number: QL2-0194-000
but you need to take the machine apart to fit this part, But to reset the part you will need to speak to a Canon service support team on how to reset it.

if you are in the uk i can give you a number to call!

hope this helps

The waste ink reservoir is full from cleaning

You need to have a new drain pack installed, around $10.00 for the part. The job is best done in a shop since they have access to the service mode to reset the counter after replacing the part.
