Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Hi, My WHIRLPOOL WFS1071AW washing machine has stopped working from one day to the other. The issue is there is no clicking, nor error code, nor LED, there's simply nothing! Checked the plug, measured power going into the machine. All good. Took the timer appart and found one of the resistors close to where the power goers in was blown. Couldn't read the coloured rings properly due to discolouration from overheating. Replaced it with a 27KOhm which didn't fix it. Would like to find out if I got the right one. Also there seems to be a relais of some sort directle where the 240V lead enteres the machine. Could that be the problem also? Didn't measure power on the timer board at all, can't tell if power is actually getting to the board. Any suggestions or help would be amazing! Really don't have the cash to buy a new washing machine right now! Thanks Damien

the 3 things i would consider would be the interlock,on/off switch or timer, Just because the door clicks it does'nt mean the interlock is'nt faulty there is no test you can do to prove it apart from trying a new one. also the on/off switch can melt remove facia to gain access to the switch it will help if you also loosen the timer, which will also allow you to see if the timer has shorted where the black connector block on the top of the unit goes if there is a track blown you will need to change interlock aswell. GOOD LUCK

Try disconnecting the heater element first and see what happens if still same unplug motor and try again, it is a process of elimination.
Plz rate solution.

The fact that you have 240V to the valve does not prove that the valve is o/k. Determine which is the live wire, and leave connected to valve coil.
You need to remove the neutral wire from the valve, and test with your meter that as well as having 240V going in, you have 240V coming out on the other terminal, if you have not , then you have a faulty valve..Simply replace it.
I assume that you have a neutral feed to the valve, because if you have not, then the fault is probably in the pcb board.
The coils on these valves often go open circuit.
Plz rate my solution.

SOURCE: LG Washer wont start, no power
Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.
