Number of Rings Before Pick-up

We've noticed that our new talkswitch phone rings 6 to 7 times before going to voice mail. As a result, our customers are hanging up assuming that no one is in the office. Can we change this through the phone itself? Or is this a more complicated problem?

Log into your Management software.
Go to each phone line.
At the very bottom of the call handling section you should see routing options. Change these setting to the desired number of rings.

Hope this helps you.

How does a regular headset work? I plugged it into the back of the phone, but don't know how to make it pick up...

if the headset is a wireless one there is a button on the headset itself you need to press to pick up or hang up a call. alternativly look for a headset or pick up button on the phone needs to be pressed. this i diffulcult to answer further without knowing the model of your headset.

download user manual for the phone at the following
check page 23 regarding using heaset.

when the phone rings press the headset feature on your phone and then select the ringing line button.
then press cancel to hang up.

I hope this was useful.

Can't activate voice mail on Mitel 5212 IP phone

You need to verify your Call rerouting, you will also need to clear any call forwarding that might be active. Its possible the system is not able to transfer a call to the forwarded location.

Trying to program a touch for incoming calls that will go through my voice mail directly

This can be handled by the DND feature in your admin settings... Do not disturb will transfer your calls direct to voicemail without ringing the handset.
