Question about GoVideo R6750 DVD Recorder
I have never set up the GoVideo recorder since I have owned it. I have tried unsuccessfully on an RCA TV/DVD combo but couldn't get the TV to change to "LINE," so I took the DVD recorder into my bedroom to hook it up to a TV that was set up to turn on to "LINE" by DirecTV. I have three TVs, all of them are old. I bought the place I'm living in furnished, so I don't have any of the manuals for them. I successfully went through the entire setup for the DVD recorder using the TV in the bedroom, but when I pressed the Open/Close button, the DVD recorder did not open. I never plan to record anything from the TV so I completely disconnected the TV from the DirecTV box. I only want to copy VCR tapes. I have the manual for the GoVideo DVD recorder so I think I will be able to figure out how to copy my tapes if I can get the DVD recorder to open. Please Help!

First, you need to have the cable directly input into the recorder.
If you only plug the cable box into the machine, you get what is happening now.
After splitting the cable, one side into te box and the other into the recorder, run the channel seek part of the program and it will scan all the channels available on the cable and place them in memory.
Then plug the output of the cable box into the other input on the recorder, and you get yor pay channels and upper tiers.
Your recorder is now a switching unit as well
