My niece has this machine, was recently helping her sew with it -- I go the E6 code also - I believe it is the button lever is down - it is the white/beige 'flag' arm beside the presser foot - it needs to be raised back up to the case housing to clear the error - it means you do not have the proper stitches for the foot.
