Question about Philips Televison & Video
Its main board [motherboard] will have some short circuited component/s. To locate the exact faulty component, you have to check the main board. Normally, DLP control chip are found faulty to this type of sets. You must have through knoledge and expereince to work with this type of Tv circuits, and must have its schematic diagram [service book], all tools to proceed. OK.

More than likely the problem is the CRT fluid and not the tube. Do a few google or fixya searches on CRT fluid and to get an idea of what it looks like when it gets cloudy.

i had the same problem with mine the fan ur talkin about is discontinued so u need to get a fan with a special function for rotation detection i got mine from coolpc.com
