Question about NetGear : WG111 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, RETAIL (DSNGWG111)

Netgear WG111 Wireless 54Mbps USB Adaptor cant connect to the network

Everything running smoothly and then yesterday it stopped connecting to the wireless network. Has been like this for two days. THe opening screen comes up to show that it is scanning for networks and then it stays unconnected. When i go via windows and ask it to connect o my wireless network, it tries for 5 minutes before it also gives up. WHy has it stopped connecting, any ideas?

I've had a Netgear WG111 usb wireless adaptor since 2007. It has suddenly stopped working.My computer cannot connect to the internet/ modem - it says no adaptor detected. Help. Can the adaptor just die?


yes they can and do I personally have had 3 or more just die, especially anything USB, they are real bad for just stopping, It is usually the USB interface and not the actual device that fails. with USB, it is usually a power spike" that kills them.

You can go to Netgear's support page for your adapter and download the necessary driver directly from here.
Check you documentation or look at the adapter to find the correct version number.

Netgear WG111 keeps losing connectivity


not at all you will only get limited network in safe mode. you need to repair windows by booting from your windows cd and run a repair

Intermittent connection


Try this support page at Netgear.com. The latest version supports Windows Vista.

Netgear wireless connection


Check the wireless IP address on the XP computer. try to ping default gateway and see whether its giving succesfull reply, after that do ping yahoo.com and check successfull pinging. if it pings successfully the yahoo website , then you should go online.

you cannot send anything wireless to bluetooth they work on different megahertz, on bluetooth enabled devices can use file transfer
